Free Concert: ScheckMate In-Person
ScheckMate will perform Sonata Nr 1 by Alessandro Scarlatti and the Rondo from Carl Maria von Weber’s Hungarian Rondo from his Opus 35. Weber wrote the original version of the Andante e Rondo Ongarese in 1809 for his brother Fritz, a violist. The arrangement for bassoon took place in 1813 at the request of the Munich court bassoonist Georg Friedrich Brandt (1773-1836). Among the piece’s many incarnations is an arrangement for cello and guitar.
Rounding out the program, Mr. Scheck will perform solos by Giuseppe Maria Dall’Abacco and Philip Glass; Mr. Burris will perform two selections from Five Bagatelles for Guitar by William Walton.
