Chewonki: The Owls of Maine (In-Person Program)

Chewonki: The Owls of Maine (In-Person Program) In-Person

Chewonki of Maine will bring three live owls for all to observe on Tuesday, June 14 at 6:00 p.m. for a one-hour program in the meeting room at the Freeport Community Library. All ages are welcomed, and it is limited to the first 60 people.

In this program, participants will learn the identifying characteristics and calls of each owl. Then, using talons, wings, and skulls, they’ll explore the adaptations of these silent nocturnal hunters. The program ends with an intimate and detailed look at live owls, bringing these creatures of the night into the light! To help prevent the spread of Avian Flu, please do not wear your yard work shoes and clothes if you have chickens or ducks at home.

This event is free and open to the public. Masks are optional in town municipal buildings. For questions or directions to the Library, visit www.freeportlibrary.com, call 865-3307, or stop by the library at 10 Library Drive, Freeport, ME 04032.
