January Spice Club: Caraway Seed

January Spice Club: Caraway Seed

Spice Club is a monthly take-and-make craft for adults. Swing by the library to pick up the month's unique spice and try one of the included recipes, or seek out your own inspiration!

The featured January spice is caraway seed – we know, we know, you probably just grimaced. But in a month of new beginnings, why not give this assertive spice another chance? After making Katherine Sack’s Carrot, Yellow Beet, and Apple Slaw with Caraway Dressing and Domenica Marchetti’s Whole-Wheat Fettucine with Savoy Cabbage, Cream and Caraway Seeds, you’ll be thinking of caraway in a whole new light.

Spice Club kits include pre-portioned spice in a reusable 4 oz. Ball jar as well as regional/historical background and at least two recipes printed on cardstock. Pickup begins January 18 @ 3:00PM (please note the later-than-usual start time) and will continue until supplies run out. This take-and-make craft is free and open to the public. For questions or directions to the library, call 207-865-3307 or visit freeportlibrary.com.
