Quitting Conversations: Accessing the Maine QuitLink

Quitting Conversations: Accessing the Maine QuitLink Online

With tobacco use continuing to be the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the world, 7 out of 10 Maine smokers report wanting to quit. This initiative strives to reduce the burden of smoke use and exposure in Maine by connecting tobacco users with evidence-based treatment and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medication over the phone and at no cost to Maine residents. Through this educational training, participants will learn more about tobacco dependence, how to start these conversations with a tobacco user, and how to access the Maine QuitLink resource. This learning experience is best suited for a person who uses tobacco, anyone who wants to support a tobacco user in their quit attempts, and/or anyone curious to learn more! Facilitated by District Tobacco Prevention Partner, Val Johnstone.
