Book Club: The Golden Compass In-Person
Welcome to book club! All are welcome to join us to talk about the month’s read. We generally meet on the last week of the month and read across genres. For assistance with requesting a book, give us a call at 207-865-3307.
January's selection is Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass. This 1995 release follows a young girl in a parallel universe as she searches for her missing friend and her imprisoned uncle, who has been conducting experiments with a substance known as "dust." Although Pullman's two series are marketed as young adult, he wrote them with no target audience in mind, which has resulted in a multi-universe of fantastic depth and intrigue.
