Armchair Travel: Wildlife of Fire and Ice: Iceland

Armchair Travel: Wildlife of Fire and Ice: Iceland In-Person

Join us for an hour-long Armchair Travel talk featuring the wonderful wildlife of Iceland, known as the Land of Fire & Ice. Enjoy fine photographs of unique and fascinating wildlife surrounded by amazing scenery. From rugged coastlines to jagged volcanic peaks, Iceland is like no other place on Earth, sitting astride the major fault line between North America and Europe. The land has been shaped by millions of years of seismic activity and the wildlife has evolved to live in this unusual habitat.  The talk chronicles a three-week trip to this stunning country that sits just below the Arctic Circle. Writer and photographer Ed Robinson of Orr’s Island, Maine is a widely traveled naturalist and will share his exciting photography and knowledge of Iceland’s beautiful creatures.

This program is part of our Armchair Travel series, where neighbors take us on grand photography tours of their travels in distant lands. Free and open to the public; please call 207-865-3307 for questions or directions.
